Does Your Home Have Asphalt Shingles?

Asphalt shingles are typically black or brown, which means that they do a good job of absorbing sunlight. This can result in higher temperatures throughout the home during the summer months. It may be a good idea to look into getting a metal roof or using other materials that do a better job of reflecting sunlight away from your home. Inadequate Ventilation Can Be Problematic

A lack of ventilation could result in humid air becoming trapped in the attic. The humid air could then be cycled around the rest of the home and make it warmer than it should be. Cooler air can enter an attic or a home’s ducts through gaps in the roof during the winter months and make it harder for a furnace to keep a home warm.
